What we collect, and why.

The short version: we collect what it takes to prove a person is who they say they are, to book a visit, and to pay for it — and nothing past that. Where something is sensitive, we arrange for it not to reach us at all.

I · What we collect

Six things, and here is each one.

email + password
That is the whole account. We don’t ask for your address, your birthday, or your phone number to open one.
identity check
Verification is optional. An unverified account can be found and can hold a conversation — it simply can’t act on cards that ask for a verified person, so its reach is limited. If you do verify, Stripe checks your government ID and tells us one thing: passed, or not. We keep that fact on your account and nothing from the document — no scan, no photo, no name, no date of birth, no ID number.
licence number
For a professional, the licence number itself. We check it against the issuing board’s own record and against the federal OIG exclusion list. The verified mark on a card means checked — not claimed.
payment card
Card details are typed on Stripe’s own payment element, never on Teleoplexy. We never see a card number and never store one. We see that a payment succeeded, and for how much.
what the visit is for
The payment page asks one optional question: in a few words, what the visit is about. Your words, written by you. It goes to the clinician before the visit so they arrive prepared — and it is erased a day after the visit. You can leave it blank and still book.
messages
What you and the other person write to each other. We keep them so both of you can go back and read what was agreed.

Note. Two of the six never reach us at all. The ID document stays with Stripe; the card number stays with Stripe. That is deliberate — the safest way to hold something sensitive is not to hold it.

II · Where it goes

Four companies, and what each one does.

Supabase
The database. Your account, your card, your bookings, your messages.
Stripe
Identity checks and payments. Holds the ID document and the card details we deliberately never take.
Cloudflare
Hosting. It serves these pages and passes requests through.
Medplum
Only when a clinician saves a clinical note about a visit. That is the one thing that goes there, and nothing goes there for an ordinary booking.

That is the whole list. We don’t send your information to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else, because there is no version of this business where that would be worth doing.

III · How long we keep it

As long as it is doing a job, and no longer.

Payments leave a record we are required to keep for tax and accounting — what was paid, when, and to whom. That is the ordinary obligation of any business that takes money.

IV · Deleting it

Ask, and it goes.

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and say you want it deleted. We delete the account, the card, and the messages attached to it.

Two things survive, and we would rather say so plainly than surprise you: a clinician’s note about a visit, which is a medical record they are obliged to keep, and the payment record, which we are obliged to keep. Everything else goes.

[email protected]
V · What we don’t do

The part most policies leave out.

We don’t sell your information. We don’t rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. Nothing on this network is scraped together behind your back — a card says exactly what its owner chose to say, and reach is granted by a human, never taken.

You can pay to be in the network. You can’t pay to be on top of it — and nobody can pay for what you wrote.

Membership is ten dollars a month, flat. That fee is the business. It never touches who gets found first, and it never buys anyone a look at anything of yours.

VI · Contact

A person reads this address.

Questions about any of the above, or about something we have that you want to see: [email protected]. Teleoplexy is based in Portland, Oregon.
